Oktoberfest at the Wharf

The Wharf was having an Oktoberfest theme this weekend with a variety of German beers available, so we strolled down there for a sundowner and got snappy happy...

Cupcakes

I love the opportunity to bake, especially cupcakes - you can be so creative!
Below are some proudly South African cupcakes to support the Springboks in the World Cup, and some tie dye once for a potluck.
I think they worked out pretty well if I do say so myself.

Tortuga Food, Art & Wine

So, the busy tourist season is starting up again in Cayman and the specials are all starting to pop up!
Tortuga wine store has a Food, Art & Wine evening on the last Thursday of every month and we popped in this week to do some tastings.
The wine of choice was Dona Paula from Argentina.  We decided that although we don't really enjoy Chardonnay - this one was very good, but as usual the reds were the favourites.  The Malbec in particularly.
We have grown quite fond of the South American wines due to the reasonable prices, wide selection on island and pretty decent taste!
There were some great chicken skewers to snack on and some light background music courtesy of a talented guitarist.
A great after work distraction, I think we'll be back next month.
